    Hey everyone, just found this great ebook that I really think can help all of you who actually want to succeed at djing and make it profitable for yourself. It’s called “Event DJ’s Complete Guide To Success.” It gives you all the tips, tricks, and techniques that you can’t really capture in just youtube videos.

  • 16 bonkswa // Nov 2, 2011 at 5:04 am

    @nekonaru16 do you …
    @nekonaru16 do you mean dj’s who do magic with scratching and moving the records or dj’s who just play tracks? because anybody can play tracks but not do stuff like a-trak. i might be wise to make a note about this difference here

  • 17 EmmanoTV // Nov 2, 2011 at 5:04 am

    @nekonaru16 I would …
    @nekonaru16 I would add that music programming, feeling the atmosphere and the crowd are very hard things, and this is an art in itself !
    Then, what you see on this video is only basic technic… any DJ needs to know how to do it, and in fact, a set with only beatmatched transitions is not a technical performance and not an artistic performance if the music programmation isn’t good.
    Now, as I hope you can imagine what it is, this is an art…

    ok, say his track …
    ok, say his track is 120 bpm, and his other track is 120 bpm. what happens if the second record comes in on the off beat of the first record? how do you time that? (other than tuning it after the fact). how does he recognize where the down beat is on both the records so he comes in on beat?

    @ShiftAero When a …
    @ShiftAero When a DJ speaks of pitch control, he means tempo. If you play a track at 125 bpm and want to bring in a track with 128 bpm, you’d have to drag the pitch control up to slow down the track. Hence beatmatching with only the pitch control in this vid. Techically you’re right in saying the pitch only changes the tone, but then a DJ would call that “key”.

  • 23 isk8anddrum // Nov 2, 2011 at 5:04 am

    @ShiftAero but if …
    @ShiftAero but if he’s trying to make deck 2′s song get to the same speed as deck 1′s song, wouldnt he end up making deck 2′s song sound different? also i use VDJ and theres a key lock on that, do real decks have a key lock?

  • 24 ShiftAero // Nov 2, 2011 at 5:04 am

    @isk8anddrum Well …
    @isk8anddrum Well actually I just watched the video and idk if the same thing applies :o It might be, judging from what he says

  • 25 ShiftAero // Nov 2, 2011 at 5:04 am

    @isk8anddrum No, …
    @isk8anddrum No, pitch is how high or low the note is while tempo is the speed of the music (BPM). So controlling the pitch would be altering the frequency of a wave, the difference between a D# or a G, any note you can think of.
